Why I Created the Tangle Emporium

I have spent years helping people untangle what is going on in their heads. As an NLP Practitioner and Mindset Coach and Mentor, that is the work I love - sitting with someone and helping them find the thoughts that are quietly running the show, the stories they have been living inside without realising it.
And in all those years, do you know what I've noticed?
Almost everyone I worked with said some version of the same thing. "I know I need to slow down. I know I need some space. I need to get out of my head and stop overthinking".
They were not lazy. They were not failing at self-care. They were just busy people, living busy lives, who had never quite worked out how to protect a bit of time that was genuinely, unmoveably theirs.
I recognised it because I had said the same thing myself.
The thing about Zentangle
I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), too, and I have been tangling (drawing tangles) for years. What I love about it - what I have always loved about it - is how it completely takes over.
Not in a stressful way. In the opposite way. You pick up your pen, you follow the pattern, and somewhere in those repetitive strokes your brain just ... settles. The to-do list fades out. The noise gets quieter. You come up for air twenty minutes later feeling like you have had a proper rest. It takes you out of your head, into a calmer world
I started thinking: What if people had access to this regularly? Not just at a one-off workshop, but every week. A standing appointment with themselves. A Wednesday afternoon that nobody else got to cancel.
That was the idea behind the Tangle Emporium.
What you actually get each week
Every month, the Tangle Emporium has four Wednesday sessions, and each one has its own flavour.
Two of the sessions are Tangle Time Live - these are the ones where we slow right down and learn a pattern together, step by step. I guide you through each stroke, you follow along, and by the end, you have created something you are genuinely proud of. Even if you are convinced you cannot draw. Especially then, actually.
Then there is the Tangle Exploration Session, which is where we go a little deeper. We take a pattern and explore what else we can do with it. It is a bit more playful, a bit more experimental, and a brilliant way to start building confidence with your own creative instincts.
And once a month, we have a Workshop of the Month - a longer, more immersive session where we learn different ways to use tangles. These are the sessions where you really get to breathe and explore. We play with colour, techniques and more.
Everything is recorded, so if Wednesday at 3 pm (UK time) does not work for you one week, the replay is there waiting. You never miss out.
What I wanted it to feel like
I did not want it to feel like another thing on a to-do list. I wanted it to feel like a treat - something people looked forward to rather than fitted in.
I wanted it to be warm and unhurried. I wanted it to be the kind of space where you could show up exactly as you are, with no experience needed and no pressure to be good at anything.
And I wanted it to be genuinely affordable, because the people who need this the most are often the people who are least likely to spend money on themselves. So I priced it at £35 a month. Four live sessions (five in a five-week month), full replays, and a lovely community of people who all get it.
Because that matters too - being around other people who understand why you need this. Who do not look at you blankly when you say, "I just needed a minute." Who nod, and pick up their pens, and draw alongside you.
If any of this sounds like something your week is missing, I would love to have you in there.
Live* Zentangle sessions every Wednesday at 3 pm UK time. Full replay access. A warm, welcoming community. No experience needed. Cancel any time.
With love and tangles,
Ruby x * All Zentangle sessions are live where possible. If something unexpected happens, e.g. I fall ill, or there are exceptional circumstances where I can't run the session, an alternative date will be offered, or you will have access to a pre-recorded session.
