The Tangletastic Challenge Wk 41 | Zentangle Wild Card - A String Surprise

Tangletastic Challenge cover image

Hello, Tanglers! 🎉

It's Week 41 of the Tangletastic Challenge✨

This week, I'm throwing a Wild Card (a challenge that doesn't fit in with the other challenge themes).

This Wild Card is a String Surprise.

Create a random string without looking, then tangle what appears.

Here are samples from Chris (Govan) & Pauline (Herbert):

Zentangle tile using random string and Sugar Cane by Suzanne McNeil, Crescent Moon by Maria Thomas, Caro by Lucy Farran, Alea by Aida Rico, and Knightsbridge by Rick Roberts .
Chris has shared a funky string with us this week. Tangles used were Sugar Cane by Suzanne McNeil, Crescent Moon by Maria Thomas, Caro by Lucy Farran, Alea by Aida Rico, and Knightsbridge by Rick Roberts .

Zentangle tile using a random string and Paradox
(Paraphrased) Pauline chose a monotangle this week to simplify the chaos of a messy string. She said 'Crazy Paradox' was once a challenge for her, but now she calmly repeats 'corner to line, turn tile' as each shape transforms into something amazing. The final result is always worth it!

If you've enjoyed this challenge and you're thinking, "I want more of this", come and join us in the Tangle Emporium. It's where we do this every month: tangling, slowing down, switching the brain off for a bit, and actually enjoying the process.

A lovely little community of people who get it. It's just £35 a month, and there's no pressure, no hustle, just calm and creativity on repeat. We'd love to have you.

Over to you!

Remember, the Tangletastic Challenge isn't a 'challenge' per se. It's meant to be a fun tangling 'challenge' to help you develop your Zentangle tiles, so don't overthink it. It's all about playing. Your tiles can be as simple as a 2" x 2" square.

Once you've created your tile, please share it in the Tangletastic group and then add it to the relevant album in the group (our Tangle Gallery)

I can’t wait to see your tiles sparkle in the Tangle Gallery! 🌀👑

✨ Remember to stick to 'The Rules' ✨

  1. Tangle to the weekly prompt.

  2. Share your creation in my Tangletastic Facebook Group, and in the Tangle Gallery under the relevant prompt.

  3. Share it on Instagram using #TangletasticChallenge and #Ruby2Shoes, and remember to tag me @ruby2shoesdesign. 📸💖 Sharing on Facebook works too! 🌀👑 Link to my Tangletastic group - http://bit.ly/Tangletastic

  4. 💬 Share the Love: Comment on at least three other posts each week. This isn’t a competition. Every tangle is magical! See someone’s post without a comment? Please leave a little sparkle for them.

🌟 NB. While I’ll be cheering you all on, I won’t be commenting on every single post personally: The magic of this challenge is in us supporting one another as a community. 💖 I've been trying to keep up, but I know I've still missed a few people, so the more it grows, the harder it will be.

💌 Don't know what this is all about?! Full details here.

Come and join my Tangletastic group so you can join in.

Let’s do this together! 🎉👠✨

PS. I’d love to keep in touch. Pop your email here for pattern ideas, creative prompts, tiny mindset shifts, workshop updates and the occasional step-by-step tangle you can draw straight away.

PPS. Did you know ... I've written a book!! It's a fabulous little book you can pop in your bag, ready to tangle at a moment's notice. Check it out here.
