This week it's all about Pattern Remix. Choose a tangle you could draw with your eyes closed, then give yourself permission to tweak just one part of it and see where that takes you.

How to Get Started - Three Ideas For You

To develop this idea, you might consider:

• Swap the shape of your usual strokes, straight lines to curves, or curves to zigzags, and see what shifts.

• Try changing the scale. Go tiny and tight, or big and bold, and notice how the pattern feels different.

• Rotate the direction your tangle usually runs, sideways, upside down, or on the diagonal, for a fresh take.

Chris shared that shifting to sharper lines creates a totally different flower when you square off the tangle Trewithen.

Pauline says, "I chose 'Pokeleaf' and changed the stalk or base of the tangle. Little did I know that changing to stacked orbs would weave some kind of magic. I summoned up an army of cuteness". And she invented a new tangle called Snorb! Isn't that the cutest name for them?!

Remember, the Tangletastic Challenge isn't a 'challenge' per se. It's meant to be a fun tangling 'challenge' to help you develop your Zentangle tiles, so don't overthink it. It's all about playing. Your tiles can be as simple as a 2" x 2" square.

Once you've created your tile, please share it in the Tangletastic group and then add it to the relevant album in the group (our Tangle Gallery)
