This week it's all about Classic Zentangle. Strip things right back and work in traditional black pen and pencil shading only, no colour at all.

How to Get Started - Three Ideas For You

To develop this idea, you might consider:

1. Choosing one tangle you know well and seeing how much depth you can build using shading alone.

2. Working in black pen only for your whole tile, and noticing how much detail carries the design without colour or graphite.

3. Picking a string with plenty of open space, then using pencil shading to decide where the eye rests.

Remember, the Tangletastic Challenge isn't a 'challenge' per se. It's meant to be a fun tangling 'challenge' to help you develop your Zentangle tiles, so don't overthink it. It's all about playing. Your tiles can be as simple as a 2" x 2" square.

Once you've created your tile, please share it in the Tangletastic group and then add it to the relevant album in the group (our Tangle Gallery)
